FENADEGAS (free translation: National Federation of Cooperative Wineries in Portugal) was created in 1981 and is made up of 56 cooperatives scattered throughout the country.

FENADEGAS actively participates in the general policy for viticulture, proposing, together with the official authorities, measures that support the development of the Portuguese wine sector. FENADEGAS plays an important role by its associates, since it is responsible for informing and guiding them on the internal and external trade policy.

This association participates in the definition and execution of the credit policy related to the general development of the associate cooperatives. It also proposes and promotes the establishment of an insurance system capable of effectively covering the risks of wine related activities and gives technical and legal assistance to its associates.
