IVDP (Port and Douro Wines Institute) is a public organisation that controls viticulture in the Douro region. It also plays an important role in the strategic guidance of the wine policy in this Demarcated Region.

IVDP makes the connection between the Port and Douro wines production and commercialisation sectors, therefore promoting the confluence of interests in both sectors.

IVDP’s facilities (divided between Porto and Peso da Régua) comprise analysis laboratories and the Tasting Panel, who evaluate the quality of the wines produced in the Douro region and approve their commercialisation.
