Characteristics |
196-17 CI is a vigorous rootstock and a medium producer of wood.
Its rooting is good, as well as its response to local and hand grafting.
Its main disadvantages are the extreme sensitiveness to chlorosis (it bears only 6% active limestone) and the low resistance to the Meloidogynae type of nematodes.
It has medium resistance to drought and adapts well to acid, schist soils. It also shows good results in fresh, sandy soils. |
