| Characteristics |
41 B is a medium vigour rootstock with a very slow initial vegetative growth. It has a short vegetative cycle, therefore antecipating the ripening of the grafted grape varieties.
Local grafting shows good results. It is not advisable to perform hand grafting, due to bad rooting of the rootstock and accelerated growth of the scion in relation to the roots.
41 B is resistant to chlorosis and bears up to 40% active limestone. It is also resistant to the gall form of phylloxera; however, it is very sensitive to downy mildew and to the Meloidogynae type of nematodes.
It is relatively resistant to drought, but sensitive to moisture and to the presence of sodium chloride in the soil. |
