Name Mourisco
Type of grape variety Red
Description Low quality red grape variety with a culture area confined to the Braga County. It is little productive and irregular due to its susceptibility to cryptogamic diseases, producing undefined and low quality wines.

Synonymy: also known as «Mourisco de Semente» or as «Mourisco de Braga».

Budding open, very cottony, white and without anthocyanin pigmentation.
Young leaf light green; very cottony on the down side of the blade and cottony on the upper side.
Flower androgynous.
Shoots internodes with red striations and green nodes on the back side; green on the frontal side; green buds; erect to half-erect growth.
Tendrils discontinuous, short, pubescent and straight.
Adult leaf medium size, orbicular, three to five lobes, dark green, margins of the blade slightly folded down, sometimes wrinkled and waved and medium bubbly; short teeth, convex margins; petiolar sinus with the lobes slightly overlapped with a V shaped base and open upper lateral sinus, sometimes with slightly overlapped lobes, with a V shaped base; very cottony on the down side; glabrous petiole, shorter or from the same size as the medium main vein.
Bunch medium size; cylindrical-conic; medium compactness; short peduncle and insignificant lignification.
Berry medium size, irregular; elliptic-short; dark blue colour, with bloom, medium thick skin and apparent hilum; uncoloured, soft and little juicy pulp with a simple flavour; medium long pedicel of difficult separation.
Seeds hard tegument, predominantly two per berry; big, pyriform, short and pronounced beak.
Stalks elliptic cross-section, striated surface, brown reddish colour; short, fusiform and slightly angled; short internodes and large nodes; medium to small, cup-shaped and very prominent buds.
