| Description |
The cultivation of Encruzado is almost exclusively of Dão. It is probably the best white grape variety planted in the region and is used in the production of many white wines, either blended or monovarietal.
Encruzado has a good production and well balanced sugar and acidity. On the other hand, it is very sensitive to rottenness and unfavourable weather conditions (rain and wind).
Wines made from this grape variety are very aromatic and have an accentuated flavour. They can be kept in bottle for many years, which gives them a unique longevity.
