Name Gouveio
Type of grape variety White
Description The Gouveio grape variety is grown in the Douro region, where it is also known as Verdelho, which is why is it often confused with the Verdelho grape variety grown in the Azores and Madeira. It has good ageing potential and good production. It has medium-sized and compact bunches that produce small, yellowish-brown grapes. The wines produced with Gouveio show an excellent balance of acidity and sugar, being characterised by their high-grade, good structure and intense aromas. Moreover, these wines have excellent conditions to be aged in bottle.
