Viosinho
|
Grape characteristics |
Name |
Viosinho |
Type of grape variety |
White |
Description |
Viosinho is only grown in the Douro and Trás-os-Montes regions, where it is used since the 19th Century. It has good quality, appropriate for producing still and Port wine. However, as its production is weak, it is not much grown. Viosinho has small early-ripening bunches and berries, which are very sensitive to rottenness. This grape variety develops best in not very dry soils. This grape variety produces well-structured wines, fresh and with complex floral aromas. They are usually alcoholic and can be kept in bottle for some years. |
